hello, wonderful

october 31st has got to be one of the most beautiful among the 365, sometimes 366 days of the year.

come on. who doesn't like halloween?

well, except for those kids who faint at the sight of one incredibly fake looking ghoul on the street, who doesn't?

hello, wonderful.

i love trick or treating. and at this age of not so sweet sixteen, i still love it.
i still dress up with my sister and my cousins, i still go around the village with nothing more than a plastic, orange and black pumpkin and the giddy feeling of anticipation.

i love the thought of the possible toothache i'll get with all the candy in my pumpkin basket. i love discarding the unwanted Maxx candies and saving the best ones i have for last. i love the coolness of the midnight wind as we stroll around the decorated, eerie looking houses till we drop dead ourselves. i love the velvety, often itchy feel of the costumes worn after being brought out after a year of its hiding, collecting dust in one of the far away cabinets in our home.

it's always a different world during halloween. familiar faces become scary looking strangers at a blink of an eye. the once empty, untrodden streets become full of tiny kids abuzz. the quiet, humble village of sunshine and laughter becomes an orange colored realm from the pages of some horror book.

for some teenagers my age, trick or treating may seem a bit too childish to them now. if ever they want candy, they'll just get a pick up truck from some garage, ride it and fill it with the members of their "cool" pack, demanding for candy and overshadowing the tiny tots walking dressed as their favorite cartoon characters.
but i'd rather walk among the toddlers and the parents accompanying their, well, toddlers, than be like the pick-up riding teens on a roadtrip.

as a child, i have been deprived of the trick or treating privilege. as my neighbors gathered outside our street, fully dressed for the night, i had to watch those halloween specials they show on tv, just to keep my halloween spirits up.

it's pretty sad actually.

but then, here i am, waiting for the clock to strike midnight to just get the heck out of my house and be juvenile for one night. who cares if some thinks its embarassing and way too babyish an activity? i'm still youthful, and it's something i love doing.

while the whole adolescent world is partying wildly and getting themselves wasted, i choose to walk on the safe side, with the people i care for the most.

Cheers for halloween love.

Devious and twisted,

Therese

face it, sucko.

i'm the hero of fools.

all quoted.

"The sad truth is that the truth is sad."

"People don't always get what they deserve in this world"

"You can not be a supermodel."

"I'm beginning to think that washing my face is a complete waste of time"

"The world is a harum scarum place."

"If a guy is witty, charming and artistic, he is probably gay."

"Fate is like a strange, unpopular restaraunt, filled with odd waiters who bring you items you never asked for and don't always like."

"In relationships, it is best to assume nothing."

"Not only am I very intelligent, but I am also very smart."

"Hey, I heard your friend died"

"Yea"

"Well, don't feel bad. He's an old guy, and that's what old guys do. They DIE."

"Certain things they should stay the way they are.You ought to be able to stick them in one of those big glass cases and just leave them alone. I know it's impossible but it's too bad anyway."

"I remember how, a couple of days ago, you and I killed a couple of hours with a computer game. Perhaps the game amused me more than it did you; I desperately needed a little respite from all my thoughts. But each time we 'died' in that game, a new screen immediately came up, and we were off again. How can we know that there isn't a 'new screen' for our souls as well? I don't think there is, I really don't. But the dream of something unlikely has its own special name. We call it hope."

blasto fasto. congratulations, reader, you've clicked the scroll button long enough to have reached the part that nobody dares to reach. now buzz off.
