high school boosical

Maybe I'm just running out of reasons to blog, and I just had to hang on to this stupid idea of an entry that is neither relevant nor very h elpful, but, well, here it is.

Okay, so tomorrow is the big day.

Please don't tell me you haven't noticed- Disney channel has a godforsaken countdown on top of their tv screen.

I can almost smell High School Musical 2.

So kids are excited, moms are annoyed, and dads- well, I bet they're probably indifferent about all the Wild Cats drama. Children, they've already bought the early released album and have painstakingly memorized all the lyrics stapled together with the cover CD, just to impress their friends of their immediate knowledge of the words when HSM 2 officially airs out in Disney.

I've watched it. You've probably watched it. The DVD sellers in front of Mercury Drug has already watched it, and for the small number of people who haven't downloaded it off the Internet yet, don't worry. I'm going to give out minimum spoilers for you- not that you care anyway.

Rant # 1:

I can never understand if Zac Efron is really hot or not.
Dancing AND singing at the same time- hot. Having another guy sing other parts for him- NOT! If he can't sing as well as everyone claims he can, he should not get some other guy do the job for him. And he even takes credit for it! Tsktsk. And Efron has to get all the girls while Seely (Efron's sometime-singing voice) gets to sulk at one corner, listening to the HSM cd for the 187th time, trying to recognize his voice mixed with Efron's over the loop of Breaking Free.

Rant # 2:

I realized that guys who play the outcast role almost always end up attracting me.
Ryan, I never really took notice of in the first movie. I obviously overlooked his lime green hat in "What I've Been Looking For", which seemed to be exuding with gayness before, but now I find as charming as ever. I don't know about you, but there's just something about the "being-ignored-by-my-sister-over-some-boy" situation that I find, oddly enough, very appealing.

Rant # 3 :

Just when I thought Vanessa Ann Hudgens couldn't look even more pathetic in her Breaking Free panic attack in HSM 1, she stars in the second installment- with freaking short hair. NO, I do not approve of it, and YES, I know that nobody cares anyway. That, and all the 'naughty Hudgens' scandal will definitely NOT take her to the big screen anytime soon.

Rant # 4:

Ashley Tisdale has just gotten prettier.
Though her voice is, well, less screechy and mousy this time, her solo song didn't improve in any way. Fabulous is just an annoying track that is bound to get stuck in your head, unfortunately enough. Well, at least she's managed to look fabulous, unlike some people I know.

Rant # 5:

Why o why did they EVER think of including MARTHA?
I know you know her. She's that large, dancing girl in "Stick To The Status Quo". Don't get me wrong. I definitely have nothing against fat people- (and I think I'm becoming one of them as well, but that's beside the point) Her presence, I just find really annoying.
And she HAD to dance with Ryan just when I have developed this new-found attraction for him. Of course, it's nothing serious, but still. She's there, and that's it. It's annoying me.

Rant # 6:

Kelsi sang.
No seriously.
Kelsi FREAKING sang.
It wasn't funny even. I think, I didn't have the heart to laugh at her. Obviously she was trying a wee bit too hard. And, well, nobody deserves to be insulted after trying his/her best- even if his "best" is definitely NOWHERE near good enough.

Rant # 7 - Can I just say that I find it really annoying that the Troy-and-Gabriella-smooching-scene always gets interrupted at the course of the movie? Is it to build the excitement and tension among children or what? I mean, SO WHAT if the boss walks up to them in the pool before kissing? I swear, if only one of them held a hand up to stop the interrupter and went on with it, the movie would've been less shamefully predictable and hell of a lot funnier.

So I shall end here and leave all the other HSM rants up to you. Comment on this entry if you like, for additional bashing, for I swear, we all need to show off a bit of our evil side. YES, even if it means pathetically venting out all these by reviewing a movie- intended for kids.

Cheers.

Twisted and Devious,

Therese

face it, sucko.

i'm the hero of fools.

"If a guy is witty, charming and artistic, he is probably gay."

"Fate is like a strange, unpopular restaraunt, filled with odd waiters who bring you items you never asked for and don't always like."

"In relationships, it is best to assume nothing."

"Not only am I very intelligent, but I am also very smart."

"Hey, I heard your friend died"

"Yea"

"Well, don't feel bad. He's an old guy, and that's what old guys do. They DIE."

"Certain things they should stay the way they are.You ought to be able to stick them in one of those big glass cases and just leave them alone. I know it's impossible but it's too bad anyway."

"I remember how, a couple of days ago, you and I killed a couple of hours with a computer game. Perhaps the game amused me more than it did you; I desperately needed a little respite from all my thoughts. But each time we 'died' in that game, a new screen immediately came up, and we were off again. How can we know that there isn't a 'new screen' for our souls as well? I don't think there is, I really don't. But the dream of something unlikely has its own special name. We call it hope."

blasto fasto. congratulations, reader, you've clicked the scroll button long enough to have reached the part that nobody dares to reach. now buzz off.
