book lurve and sacrifices

hey schmay.

Got the Starbucks planner last Wednesday.
So I came home, kissed my mom hullo and saw a Starbucks paper bag, quickly grabbed it and ipened it (necause i thought it was a croissant slash cake slash anything edible.

surprise surprise.

waddaya know. it's a planner.

so i have 2 planners for next year. loveit.
(the other one i bought with some of my birthday money)

kay. updating just to tell the world how i find the rapidly increasing number of SHSians who wear those silk headbands (plain, polka-dotted or striped). It's just so so weird, even the teachers are wearing it. Ok, maybe it was cool when only Nicki was wearing it, but now that everyone else is, i don't know. it's nothing new now. the whole school has seen someone flaunt them during its "peak" days. now it's just all too random. now whenever i wear my blue band which i ultimately love and have been wearing for ages (so no one can accuse me of not "practicing what i preach" and all that), because everybody else has something long and colorful on their shoulders.

i don't know what's with the headbands, but i swear, the number of people wearing them is bothering me. for no specific reason at all.

ultimate weirdness slash randomness.

anyway. Nicki's going to lend me House Season 3! woahyes
a downloaded dvd, of course, since this country is always ever so late (like Lila would say)

all our little friends (including me, of course) in our group is (?) in love with Hoise. (at least i think the rest are too)

i kind of want more episodes with chase/cameron pairing but... acc. to nicki, the 10 episodes i would be able to watch this or next week promises none of it. SAD. BOO.

'kay.

so Santol Patrol (love the name, weirdly ) is currently working on our CL project schmoject- song composition about... SERVICE!

one big "ooooooooohkaaaaaaaaaaaay"...

mini band-aid, Come Together has come and gone.
congratulations to 93 KM! woohee

OMG. we definitely screwed up, gotta tell you that. (band-aid band)
but, sometimes you just gotta laugh it off.

not!!!!!

and, the band-aid first auditions: done. that was last saturday.

i judged! yay! haha sarap lang ng feeling.

most bands were ok actually, some were not synchronized, some guitars were terribly out of tune and couldn't do anything about it because their time is running.

overall it was fun, even if our lunch was McDo Chicken.
aaah, i hate McDo chicken.

hay. i love long weekends. i really really do.
well, who doesn't.
haven't bought any book this month yet.
aaugh. i NEED at least one book per week.
i'm going crazy. i need to see Fully Booked. or Powerbooks.
cry.

so enough of the book drama.

i found out a few weeks ago that i belong in the fiction writing categ in enguhlish week.
woohee.

i'm excited, but anxious excited, which is never good.
and writing short stories with limited number of words has never been my best area. 1000 words or less, can you buuuhlieve it?

so if any of you guys could give me ideas- just about ANYTHING, i would love love love it.
absolutely anything under the sun, lovely people. (hate the phrase)

'kay so more random stuff.
Yvan is officially expelled form PDA. aaaawwwww. (okay, i did admit thati watch PDA even before, so no need to be grossed out this time). He's one of my faves. Sad to see him out. I love his voice.
He reminds me of Eliot Yamin.

more new things.

Koko, Rhoda, Jescia, Patty B, and I have a pact.
To be able to pass Ateneo, Koko, Patty B., Jescia and I shall not curse starting this month until next year.
Rhoda won't eat fast food starting this month till next year too for DLSU (big sacrifice, since she eats fast food about thrice a week or so)
gawsh. God help us.

hay. can't wait to buy more books, hopefully this week.

this is one bighugeginormous hint that you should take

give me books for christmas. please. :))
or, gift certificates, even the cheapest ones (Php300) preferrably fr. Fully Booked. haha!

it's my only wish this year.

ok so i have lots of wishes, which include an entirely new wardrobe and lots and lots of shoes, but FB gift certificates would truly absolutely positively make my Christmas super super great.

i could swim in books all day and not complain, i swear.

Cheers

Therese

the happiest place on earth

IT'S DECEMBER! IT'S FREAKIN DECEMBER!

yay. just felt i had to say that. december is the month i truly love. and i felt that it would be proper to greet the start of a month with an entry, even though it's four days late.

recapschmecap

that GK talk- highlight of the week. well it's not like I haven't helped out in GK. But the speaker was effing convincing. Everyone had a one second crush on him i think ( i guess it was partly because he was an amboy, excuse me for the term) I like going there actually, and I ultimately love the idea of 1MB (which is isang milyong bayani) woohoo. I feel so lucky to be a kid. I mean a member of the youth.
let's do this guys.
rebuild the philippines.

okay, so i've been busy with the groups i've joined/ am in, and i like it.

i've been doing graphics for band-aid (tickets for mini band-aid, which looked a bit crappy because it was photocopied), band-aid back drop for the elims (about to be tarpaulin-ed), poster for come together mini band-aid, which i really hope you schoolmates watch (it's gonna be one hell of a show! or not. maybe i'm just being optimistic. nvm), then there's practice for the surprise number and A Hard Day's Night (which will ironically take place during noon) practices which haven;t started yet. There's the song writing thing in CL and Music, the PROSEC journal, TEENSTAR, and lots of projects that's still keeping me busy.

Plus, I have to catch up with Physics (my lowest grade in the card. oh the shame)

I'm not complaining though. I actually like coming home late. The only downside is less time for homework and rest, but whatever.

anyway. i just happened to stumble upon our "travel memorabillia about to be fixed in the (near-but not quite) future" pile and found an old brochure of Disneyland and quickly opened it to my excitement.

I suddenly remembered when we first went to Disneyland Calif. It was years and years ago, Christmas time too. As a kid of the Philippines who only got to see Star City during childhood days, Disney was my paradise. I was overwhelmed with just about everything, from the rides, to the large mascots, to Disney merchandise. As I walked the streets filled with kids and grown-ups alike, all of whom wore fascinated faces, I felt alive.

Figuratively, of course.

Of course, I tried to ride all the rides that would accept me in their height requirement (since Iwas so small then) with much anticipation, minding fear the least bit. I remember those large teacups which went round and round and round made me so dizzy I almost puked, but of course I didn't since even as a young kid, I knew when and when not to make a fool of myself.

In a world of violence and treachery, here's a little piece of heaven within the OC- the fulfillment of everyone's dreams both young and old. The perfect world of idealism which I though have never existed.

"To all who come to this happy place – welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, dreams and the hard facts that have created America… with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world."

And it is true. Even though before, all that mattered to me was getting autographs of the different Disney characters in big mascots, I still felt that everything I haven't and will never see in this lifetime, I saw there in Disneyland.
No matter if the dreams stand there as metal, foam, plastic and other synthetic materials you can think of, but it is a dream.
No one can change that fact.

Yes, we have Star Cities and Enchanted Kingdoms here in the Philippines were the rides are all brown and rusty (and you have to say a little prayer before you do ride in them, in case the worst happens), and they might momentarily ease the need to see something bigger and better than what we see everyday. But still, no one can deny that kids and adults alike all over the world fly over to USA to see the highly acclaimed place to be.
And all of them leave starry-eyed and feeling wonderful.

This is why Disneyland is truly the happiest place on Earth.

Of course, in these times when no one can even afford to dilly-dally and fly from one place to another, I guess EK would do.
For now.

Cheers.

Therese

face it, sucko.

i'm the hero of fools.

"Fate is like a strange, unpopular restaraunt, filled with odd waiters who bring you items you never asked for and don't always like."

"In relationships, it is best to assume nothing."

"Not only am I very intelligent, but I am also very smart."

"Hey, I heard your friend died"

"Yea"

"Well, don't feel bad. He's an old guy, and that's what old guys do. They DIE."

"Certain things they should stay the way they are.You ought to be able to stick them in one of those big glass cases and just leave them alone. I know it's impossible but it's too bad anyway."

"I remember how, a couple of days ago, you and I killed a couple of hours with a computer game. Perhaps the game amused me more than it did you; I desperately needed a little respite from all my thoughts. But each time we 'died' in that game, a new screen immediately came up, and we were off again. How can we know that there isn't a 'new screen' for our souls as well? I don't think there is, I really don't. But the dream of something unlikely has its own special name. We call it hope."

blasto fasto. congratulations, reader, you've clicked the scroll button long enough to have reached the part that nobody dares to reach. now buzz off.
